The Nokia 7110 was the first Mobile Phone to have a WAP Browser (Wireless Application Protocol) or Microbrowser.
The Nokia 7110 has a spring-loaded cover concealing the keypad. This is inspired by the film The Matrix in which Neo used a Nokia 8110 modified by the film's production crew to have such a cover.
Variants
The Nokia 7160 was TDMA equivalent of the Nokia 7110. The Nokia 71** series of cellphones in general featured a special, navi-roller button. It was considered to be one of the first true media phones with WAP and messaging capabilities.
